The land of myths and heroes..!!

Exploration awaits the eager traveler while visiting Peloponnese. It is a whole world on it’s own, with castles dominating key geographic features, great forests and stunning beaches.

Follow the Mycenaean road, visit Epidaurus theatre, climb the 999 steps of Palamidi castle, you will also cycle along Parnonas mountain, visit Mystras & Monemvasia castle.

Entering Mani you will feel the aura of legends and heroes as you cycle along quiet roads leading to Cape Tenaro, the most southern part of Peloponnese. Our final destination Gialova lagoon is waiting for us.

DAY 1 - Arrival Ancient Epidaurus

Transfer from the Athens airport to Ancient Epidaurus. Brief stop at the Korinth Canal, a vision of Greeks more than 2000 years ago, Corinth Canal which was not completed until the late 19thcentury. You will have the chance to walk along the seaside promenade of the town, visit the small theatre of Epidavrus, before you return to the hotel and get ready for the following 7-day exciting ride. Overnight in Ancient Epidaurus.

DAY 2: Ancient Epidaurus - Mycenae - Nafplio
Leaving Ancient Epidaurus by van we will be visiting the Epidaurus archeological site. We then start of our cycling tour following the Mycenaean Road starting from Epidaurus, we will end up in ancient site of Mycenae. Overnight in Nafplio.
DAY 3: Nafplio - Argos - Nafplio

 Before the cycling tour we will visit the Palamidi Castle in the morning. Departing from the hotel, we will head on towards Mycenae from an alternate route. We will then cycle through the Argos orange orchards, option of visiting the Argos ancient theatre and enjoy the beautiful settings of Kefallari spring. Following the flow of Kefallari springs we will end up at Nea Kios  with an option of healing mudbaths. Overnight in Nafplio.

DAY 4: Nafplio - Kastanitsa - Monemvasia

We drive to the picturesque village of Kastanitsa and then we cycle upwards (18km) towards the mountain refuge of Parnonas through will scenery and beautiful mountains. After that we will continue downhill (40 km) towards the village of Palaiohori, we might be lucky (depending of the waterflow) to have a dip in the river. We end up in Leonidio, a lively and colourful town in between the mountains. We then head on to Monemvasia. If you are in for it we suggest a stroll in the enchanting stone paved streets of Monemvasia by night, just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.Overnight in Monemvasia.

DAY 5: Monemvasia - Archangelos - Areopoli

Leaving Monemvasia in the morning we head west towards the village of Archangelos. We will enjoy beautiful scenery from above. Arriving at the peaceful cove of Archangelos we will have time for a dip or a drink. Overnight in Areopoli

DAY 6: Areopoli - Cave of Diros - Cape Tenaro - Mystras

Leaving Areopoli we will start our day with a visit to the cave of Diros. We then set of our cycling day following non traffic dirt and asphalt roads passing by many churches and beautiful stone villages. We end up at the southern most tip of Peloponnese of Cape Tenaro and on the way you will experience the true essence of “Mythical Peloponnese” with beautiful landscapes with stone towers and castles just like being in an epic movie. DAY 7: Mystras - Kalamata

Leaving Mystras by van  we head to the mountains where we get a drop off to start our tour. We go past mountain monasteries, great alpine forests and mountain refuges with loads of springs on the road, and the occasional village in the middle of nowhere with a decent cheese and beer snack. Overnight in Kalamata

DAY 8: Kalamata - Gialova Lagoon - Korinth

Leaving Kalamata we again head west towards Gialova lagoon where we will have the opportunity to have I relaxed 16km cycle round the Gialova lagoon and a swim at the renowned Voidokilia beach. An easy ride to wrap up our whole trip and head back to Korinthos. Overnight in Korinth.

DAY 9: Departure

After a good breakfast, you will take you luggage and get ready for your way back to the airport. If you wish, you can add some more in this trip, like a guided tour to the Acropolis of Athens or just staying a couple of days more in Athens or Evia.

Accommodation

During this tour you will stay in 3* Hotels or Apartments owned by local residents. All the accommodation has been selected by us and checked in person by our crew. They fulfil a minimum level of standards for cleanliness, staff behaviour, breakfast, comfort and more. Most probably you will meet the owners themselves, have a cup of coffee with them or taste the breakfast made by their hands! Contact us for more details.
